Best Snowboarders Of 2009: #7 Mark Landvik

MARK LANDVIK

Alaska’s favorite son and backcountry brawler Mark Landvik has long been revered as a rider’s rider. Opting for pillows over podiums, Lando has made Haines, Alaska; the Harris Mountains in New Zealand; Terrace, BC; and Mt. Baker his playgrounds. While most riders labor to produce one part, Mark pulled double duty as a member of both the Standard and Brainfarm crews last year. The work paid off, as Landvik logged more shots, more tricks, and more pow, emerging as one of the most prolific film pros of the year. Considering that Lando had to contend with the talents of Travis Rice, Torstein Horgmo, and Mads Jonsson to keep his clips off the cutting room floor, you know he threw down.
